Workshop in Glass
Beadmaking
 Offered in the private studio of bead artist Jeri Warhaftig West Orange, New Jersey

 |
Students will work under the guidance of an experienced beadmaker, using
professional torches and Italian glass to learn basic beadmaking techniques. |
 |
Beginner Workshop - Topics covered include
- glass safety, chemistry, kiln annealing, design, surface decorations, glass
manipulation, metal foils, tips and tricks, tools, and areas for further
study. |
 | Advanced
Beginners/Intermediate Workshop - Burning questions are answered and students
have a chance to move their skills to the next level and explore more advanced
techniques. Topic areas include advanced work with metals and foils, enamels,
complex twisties, hollow beads, trouble shooting shapes and anything else
students propose! |

Instructor
Jeri Warhaftig
is a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
Her work appeared as a finalist in the Bead Dreams Competition in 2004 and
2005. She has taught at many nationally known venues such as the Bead
and Button Show, Glass Craft and Bead Expo, and many smaller studios and
workshops. She has written for many major publications (most recently the
Flow) and authored her own book, Glass Bead Workshop. |

Jeri participates in local
bead shows such as Bead Fiesta in NYC and Bead Fest in Pennsylvania.

Tuition includes — glass rods, teaching materials and the use of
safety equipment, tools, gas, and an individual torch. |

Classes run from 9:30am to
4:30pm each day - students bring their own lunches. |
